MICHAEL B. ROWE Mayville

Michael B. Rowe of Mayville, age 74, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at his home, following a long battle with Parkinson’s and Lewy Body Dementia, with his family and friends by his side.  He was born August 23, 1939 in Flint, the son of the late Thomas J. and Juanita (Stokel) Rowe. Mike served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966 and was stationed for a period of time in Germany. He was united in marriage with the former Loann Jean Langmaid on December 19, 1998 in Caro. As a young man, he worked at the Flint Post Office as a sorter with his mother. He also worked at the Vassar Building Center as an architect and designed countless buildings in the area, and served as a manager at the Caro office of Rowe Engineering. Mike was a member of the Caro Moose Lodge, Caro Lions Club and various other organizations. He attended the Lighthouse Baptist Church, and loved the out-of-doors, hunting, fishing, planting trees and cutting wood. Mike is survived by his wife, Loann Rowe of Mayville; one daughter, Dolly Jean (George III) Teeple of Caro; one son, Rickie Snyder of Port Huron; three grandchildren, Kiara, Draven Craig of Mayville, Megan Snyder of Port Huron; his brothers, Dave (Sina) Rowe of North Port, George Allen (Betty) Rowe of Charlovoix, John (Jean) Rowe of Manistee; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ann Simpson; and his grandson, Corvin Arthur Teeple on May 16, 2013. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home with Rev. David Dietzel officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Rowe Family Discretionary Fund, c/o Loann Rowe, 205 W.
