Gladys H. Crittenden of Haines City, Florida, formerly of Kingston, age 99, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015 following a lingering illness. Gladys was born November 28, 1915 in Deford, the daughter of the late Edgar & Harriett (Powel) Pelton. She was united in marriage with Charles L. Crittenden on January 26, 1933 in Wells Township. During most of their lives, they owned and operated a dairy farm in Kingston Township. After their retirement in 1972, Gladys and Charles moved to Barnes Lake in Lapeer County. Gladys has lived in Florida for the last several years, near her son and daughter-in-law, Charles & Joan Crittenden. During her free time, she enjoyed crocheting. Gladys is survived by six children and their spouses, Hattie (Winnie) DesJardins of Columbiaville, Charles L. & Joan Crittenden of Davenport, Florida, Gordon Crittenden of Toledo, Ohio, James & Nancy Crittenden of Wellton, Arizona, Annabel Friday of Columbiaville, Linda & Tony Messing of Brown City; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, on October 15, 1998. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro.
