She died peacefully on February 4, 2015 in Marquette, Michigan under the care of Brookridge Memory Care staff, U.P. Home Health and Hospice, and her family. She attended Flint area schools and Central Michigan University, obtaining her Master’s in Education. She taught school for many years, retiring in 1982. She found the good in everyone she met. She, her husband, Harold and their children, Herb and Lynne traveled extensively in their travel trailer visiting much of the U.S. and parts of Canada. After retirement, she and Harold spent many winters in Florida. She loved jalapeno cheddar bread and a good BLT. The last few years she was most happy when surrounded by and visiting with her family. She is survived by her four children: Elvin (Margaret) Fritz, Terry (Terri Lynn) Fritz, Herbert (Katherine Hoholik) Hoban, and Lynne (Michael) Cappellucci; her eleven grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents (her mother, Nettie, when Dorothy was only three years old), her sister, Dolores (Dot), and husbands, Elvin Fritz and Harold Hoban and Charles Owen.
