Coiene Cooklin, age 80, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015 at the Sanilac County Medical Care Facility in Sandusky. The former Coiene Cowles was born February 11, 1935 and was married to George Cooklin who preceded her in death in 1998. She lived in Bradenton, Florida for several years before returning to Michigan. Coiene was active in her church, 4-H for thirty years, and many farm organizations. She also served on the board of directors for over six years at the park where she resided in Florida. She graduated from Caro High School with the Class of 1953.
Coiene is survived by her children, Henry (Debbie), Henrietta (Scott) Shaw, Robert, Sue (Jim) Csizmadia, James, and Stephen (Toni); nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Shawn Csizmadia in 2001.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2015 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Pastor David Cooper officiating. Private burial services will follow at the Ellington Township Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Tuscola County 4-H.
