Robert Walker, Sr. of Caro, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at his home. He was born April 15, 1941 in Caro, the son of the late Reginald and Ila (Loomis) Walker. Bob was united in marriage with the former Virginia King on July 31, 1971 in Cass City, and she survives him. Bob worked at Saginaw Steering Gear (Nexteer) and retired on July 1, 1998 after more than thirty years of employment. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, and enjoyed country western oldies and old time gospel.
Robert is survived by his wife, Virginia; step-daughter, Dawn Ayres of Marshall; three children, Robert Walker, Jr. of Caro, Jolene Walker of Caro, Brian Walker and his wife, Melissa, of Indiana; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Viola Walker of Cass City, Frances Robinson of Clare; one brother, Richard Walker of Cass City. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Maggie Hillard and Barbara Jean Fox; and one brother, Wesley Walker.
In keeping with Robert’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the Caro Moose Lodge.
