Dorothy Cregeur of Caro, age 92, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the Touch of Home AFC Home in Caro. She was born August 4, 1922 in Harbor Beach, the daughter of the late Alec and Marguerite (Hunter) Currie. Dorothy was united in marriage with Harold Cregeur on January 3, 1942 in Harbor Beach, and he survives her. Dorothy was employed as a cashier at Kroger’s and Bill’s Foodland. She was a huge crossword puzzle fan, and enjoyed ceramics, crocheting and knitting.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of seventy-three years, Harold; two daughters, Carol Corkins and her husband, Gary, of Caro, and Judy Reid of Caro; and five grandchildren, Julie Wright and her husband, Frank, of Lapeer, Jennifer Edgerton of Caro, Chad Gilkey of Caro, Angela Wright of Lansing, Kyle Reid of Caro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Jack Currie, Phyllis Engle and Doug Currie.
In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Caro United Methodist Church.
