Karl Lee (Jake) Titsworth, age 63, went to be with his Lord and Savior early Thursday, March 12, 2015 with his family at his side. Jake was the son of Henry and Anna (Marotzke) Titsworth and was born on April 1, 1951. Jake was a Millington High School graduate with the class of 1969. He was a life-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington. Jake served our community in many ways, as a Jaycee, he helped start the Summer Festival and he coached Little League for 12 years. In helping the Millington Boosters, he ran the clock at the football games for 10 years. Jake was also very active with the Millington Lions Club. For the past several years, Jake loved his time as a member of the Mid-Michigan Antique Machine Association. Jake loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with family and friends around a good campfire. He worked hard and played hard, and going to bed tired only meant that he hadn’t wasted a day. Jake retired from General Motors Flint Truck and Bus Plant in Flint, Michigan. After retirement, he went to work at the Millington Public Schools in the Maintenance Department. Jake leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Connie (Colman) Titsworth; two sons and their wives, Brian and Jen Titsworth, Jason and Melissa Titsworth; daughter and her husband, Cynthia and Jim Wilson. Jake leaves also grandchildren: Bradyn, Anna, Ellie, and Emma and was looking forward to greeting the expected grandchild of Cyndi and Jim’s due in October; a brother and his wife, Mike and wife Carole Titsworth; a sister, Pat Titsworth; and a brother-in-law, Burton Coleman, as well as several nieces, nephews, other extended family; special friends: Andy Stratton, Rick Watkins, Loren Stien, the Summer Festival Beer Tent Crew, and the Members of the Tractor Club. “If it ain’t red, leave it in the shed.” Preceding Jake in death are his parents, mother- and father in-law Willard and Joyce Colman; brothe-in-law Calvin Colman; and his best friend, Russell Schmandt, and Richard Brothers. The family received friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington on Friday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and also Saturday at the St. Paul Lutheran Church after 10:00 am. Funeral service will be held at the St. Paul Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11:00; Pastor James Bruner will deliver the funeral message and the closing prayer. Following the services, the family will honor Jake’s request and cremation will take place. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Hanlin Funeral Home has been assisting with arrangements.
