Mike Skura, 90, of Deford died following a long illness Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. He was born April 16, 1924 in Detroit the youngest of four children born to Valentino and Julia (Soltice) Skura. He married Alice Dora Martin May 22, 1948 in Detroit. She died November 23, 2011. Mike worked as a machinist for Miller Laundry Machine Company in Detroit for 19 years and later for Stahl Manufacturing in Redford retiring after ten years. He loved his family home in Deford. Mike enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He loved to watch Detroit sports on television especially the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and Detroit Red Wings. Mike was very disciplined with his money and was always looking for a deal or something for free. Mike is survived by his son, Martin of Deford; grandchildren: Hayden Skura, Logan Skura, Holly Skura; sisters-in-law: Julia McPherson of Klamath Falls, OR, Sylvia (Duane) Pyles of Waterford, Millie Romain of Cass City; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers: Max Skura, Ed Skura; sister, Carol Riech. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2015 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Brad Speirs of Novesta Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery.
