John “George” Heins Jr, 82, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. He was born in Floral Park, New York on March 24, 1932, the son of John G. Sr. and Meta (Bruns) Heins. On July 4, 1959, he married the love of his life, Royeen Weldon in Caro, Michigan. George was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country during the Korean Conflict. He attended Pace University in New York, earning a Bachelor’s Degree. He was a Regional Sales Manager for Standard Oil Company and then was employed with the State of Michigan, working for the Department of Human Services. He had lived in Gladwin County for the past 25 years, previously residing in Cass City, Michigan, and he was a member and Past President of the Gladwin Lions Club. He leaves his loving wife of 55 years to cherish his memory, Royeen Heins of Gladwin. His memory lives on in the heart of his children: David (Lisa) Heins of North Wales, Pennsylvania; Tamra (Dale) Allen of Racine, Wisconsin, and 2 beautiful grandchildren: Davison and Kylin. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Adelaide. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place and Memorial Services will be conducted on Saturday, March 21, 2015, 11:00 A.M., with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Gladwin, Michigan.
