Daniel Tewksbury of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, formerly of Mayville, age 38, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 5, 2015 in Gautier, Mississippi, as a result of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident. He was born May 7, 1976 in Lapeer, Michigan. Daniel was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and was currently employed as a heavy equipment operator with Air Masters Mechanical in Gautier, Mississippi. Daniel loved his family and operating heavy equipment. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, most outdoor activities, and his new addition, “Boss”, a Blue Pit Bull. Daniel is survived by two children, Lane Daniel Tewksbury and Emma Nicole Tewksbury, both of Mississippi; his father, Dale Tewksbury of Mayville; his mother, Beth Hecht and her husband, Larry, of Vassar; siblings, Tracey and William Spencer of Brown City, Michael and Catina Tewksbury of Batesville, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his cousin, Nicholas “Nick” Tewksbury; his grandfather, Fred Tewksbury; and one uncle, Wayne Tewksbury. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 13, 2015 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. Burial will follow at Almer Township Cemetery in Caro with military honors afforded by the Caro VFW Post #4164 and the U.S. Air Force. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Daniel Tewksbury Family Discretionary Fund, c/o Tracey Spencer, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
