JANICE KAY STONE Fairgrove

Janice Kay Stone of Fairgrove, age 77, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Bartow Regional Medical Center in Bartow, Florida.  She was born December 4, 1937 in Akron, the daughter of the late Claude and Maggie (Lesh) Bauman.  Janice was united in marriage with Chester Stone on October 24, 1953 at the Gilford United Methodist Church in Gilford, and he survives her.  She was employed as head teller at the State Savings Bank in Caro, retiring in 1993.  Janice was an extremely skilled seamstress, and was a member of the Watrousville United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women’s Club, and was very active in the church where she loved to sing.  Janice loved to travel and had visited Hawaii, Africa, Europe, and Greece, where she sang the Star Spangled Banner at the Coliseum.  She is survived by her loving husband of over sixty-one years, Chester Stone; four children and their spouses, Rick and Susan Stone of Gladwin, Pam and Joel Montei of Kingston, Greg and Elizabeth Stone of Saginaw, Karen and Denny Roehm of Merrill; eight grandchildren and two great-granddaughters; three sisters and their spouses, Ruth and Lynn Cramer, Carol and Andy Meyer, and Sandy and Wayne Henderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kaylee.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Fairgrove United Methodist Church with Pastor William P. Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at the Gilford Township Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Watrousville United Methodist Church Building Fund, in memory of Janice.
