Edward S. Mihacsi of Caro, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at his home in Caro. He was born October 30, 1935 in Caro, the son of the late John and Helen (Pistro) Mihacsi. Edward was united in marriage with the former Kay Baker on September 29, 1962 in Caro, and she survives him. He began his employment with Eaton Foundry in Vassar in 1964, and retired from Grede Foundry, also in Vassar, in 2001. Edward attended Anchor Cove Outreach Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going to Port Huron to watch the boats going by, and in earlier years liked hunting and fishing. Edward is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Kay Mihacsi of Caro; five daughters and their husbands, Robin Spencer and her fiancé, Terry Dicks, of Mt. Pleasant, Chris & Rex Vroman of Kingston, Linda & Jim Ringle of Caro, Dawn Gokey and her fiancé, Pat McGovern, of Caro, Shelley & Buddy DeLisle of Kingston; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, un-named and yet to be born; two sisters and their husbands, Rosemary “Cookie” & Joey Sakon of Unionville, Barb & Ken Billingsley of Gladwin; two sisters-in-law, Mae Mihacsi of Caro, Marge Mihacsi of Sebewaing; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by three brothers, John “Sonny,” Chuck and Rich Mihacsi; one sister, Dorothy Dillon, two grandchildren, Mat Ringle and Sarah Spencer; and one son-in-law, Bob Spencer. In keeping with Edward’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, May 25, 2015 at the Anchor Cove Outreach Church, 202 East Sanilac Road, Caro (M-46 just East of M-24) with Rev. David Wilczynski officiating.
