Lucille Cherniawski of Caro, age 88, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Saginaw. She was born June 14, 1927 in Wells Township, Michigan, the daughter of the late Frederick and Bertha (Tetil) Schilk. Lucille was united in marriage with John Cherniawski, Sr. on November 15, 1947 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro. John preceded her in death on May 14, 1998. Lucille was a homemaker and worked alongside her husband in their farming operation. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church since her baptism and their Lutheran Women’s Society, and a member of T.O.P.S. for over forty years, Lucille enjoyed crocheting and embroidery. Lucille is survived by three children and their spouses, John and Sue Cherniwski of Deford, Merry and Harley Mikkelson of Caro, Richard and Tammy Cherniawski of Caro; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Frederick Cherniawski; and two sisters, Freida Dost and Ruth Lasiewicki. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 17, 2015 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro with Rev. Cameron Steele officiating. Burial will follow at Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Caro or the Cherniawski Family Discretionary Fund, c/o John Cherniawski, 205 West Sherman St., Caro, MI 48723.
