Barbara Ann “Bobbie” Polk of Akron, age 53, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2015 at her home, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 12, 1962 in Bad Axe, the daughter of Edward Bresky and the late Genevieve (Matelski) Bresky. She was united in marriage with Tony Polk on July 28, 1984 in Port Austin, and he survives her. Bobbie was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and an active contributor to the Humane Society. She loved caring for her family and enjoyed gardening, taking care of her yard and animals. Since 2002, Bobbie has been a huge fan of NASCAR’s Jimmie Johnson and the NBA San Antonio Spurs. Bobbie is survived by her loving husband of thirty-one years, Tony Polk of Akron; one son, Dylan Polk at home; her father, Edward Bresky of Kinde; siblings, Fred and Abru Bresky of California, Gaylene and Nelson Rice of Romeo, MarthaAnn Bresky of Port Austin, Albin and Sue Bresky of Kinde; sister-in-law, Cheryl Bresky of Elkton; and many special nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Christine; and one brother, Daniel “Dude” Bresky. In keeping with Barbara’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1600 West Gilford Road, Caro, with Daniel Krause officiating.
