Esther Grace Jamison, Caro

Esther Grace Jamison of Caro, age 91, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Covenant Health Care – Cooper in Saginaw, following a brief illness. She was born September 7, 1924 at home in Caro, the daughter of the late Leo and Lillian (Hare) Lewis. Esther was a 1942 graduate of Caro High School, and on September 28, 1945 she was united in marriage with Donald R. Jamison at the Colling Nazarene Church. Don preceded her in death on December 8, 2009. She was employed in housekeeping at the Caro Regional Center for over twenty years, retiring in 1980. Esther’s life revolved around her family and was happiest when she was surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved entertaining others and would often be found baking, cooking, shopping for clothes and watching the sporting events of her great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Caro Church of the Nazarene and attended the Caro First Baptist Church. Esther is survived by her three children, Larry and Judy Jamison, Sharon and Louis Muska, all of Caro, and Marcia Stutes of Portland, Oregon; four grandchildren and their spouses, Eric Muska of East Lansing, Angie and Doug Hornbacher of Caro, Dana and Jon Arlien of Incline Village, Nevada, Erica Ruppert of Caro; three step-grandchildren, Tara and Mike Greenfelder of Chesaning, Kyle McGill of St. Joseph, Michele and Brent Hintz of Midland; seven great-grandchildren, Kayla and Jeremy Mains, Trevor Muska, Macie, Nolan and Ellie Hornbacher, Norah Baxter, Emma Ruppert; four step-great-grandchildren, Skylar and Landon Hintz, Porter and Remy Greenfelder; two step-great-great-grandchildren, Desi and Alana; her siblings, Ruth and Dallas Likens of Caro, Ellen and James Guilds of Caro, Ronald Lewis of Friendswood, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Esther was preceded in death by one grandson, Dean Muska; one granddaughter, Tamara Baxter; one brother, John Lewis; and two sisters, Beatrice Kosto and Wilma Lewis. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2015 at the Caro Church of the Nazarene with Revs. Paul McNett and Ronald C. Wigand officiating. Burial will follow at a later time at Almer Township Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Caro Church of the Nazarene or the Donor’s Favorite Charity.
