Lucile M. Wehrman, Reese

Lucile M. Wehrman, age 95, of Reese, died Monday, September 14, 2015, at St. Mary’s of Michigan in Saginaw. Funeral service will take place 11:00 am Friday, September 18, 2015, at Fairgrove United Methodist Church. Pastor Penny Parkin will officiate, with burial to follow in Brookside Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home-Fairgrove on Thursday, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On Friday, Lucile will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may consider memorial contributions to Fairgrove United Methodist Church, Thumb Octagon Barn or Bay Shore Camp. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Lucile was born the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard and Ella (Teskey) Fenner on February 7, 1920. She married Ernest Wehrman on April 10, 1941, in Gilford. Sadly, Ernest preceded her in death in July 10, 1979. Lucile was a teacher who educated students in rural and country schools throughout Tuscola County, until her retirement in 1945. She was a longtime member of the Gilford United Methodist Church, before moving her membership to the Fairgrove United Methodist Church, where she volunteered in many capacities at both churches. Lucile was a member of the Eastern Star, she served on the District Conference and Regional Committee of United Methodist Women and School of Christian Women for 20 years. She played the piano for 86 years and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Louis (Linda) Wehrman and Don (Jo) Wehrman; three grandchildren, Tim (Suzanne) Wehrman, Heath (Marcy) Wehrman and Chad (Sunday) Wehrman; six great-grandchildren, Luke, Elisha, Hayden, Kate, Stephen, and Evan; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest; brother, Louis; and two sisters, Bertha and Phebe.
