Timothy L. Southworth of Akron, formerly of Caro and Wisconsin, age 60, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw. He was born June 26, 1953 in Caro, the son of Loretta (Conner) Southworth and the late Edwin L. Southworth. Tim was a U.S. Army veteran and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed his many years that he worked for Harley Davidson. His favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle. Tim is survived by his mother, Loretta Southworth of Caro; his siblings, James Southworth of Kalkaska, Jeanne & Dean Frakes, Faye & Tom Childs, all of Caro, Pat & Freda Southworth of Mt. Pleasant; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin L. Southworth. In keeping with Tim’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Gregg Mayberry officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at Ellington Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, Cass River Pet FriendZ and to the Aleda E.
