Norma Dorothy (Partlo) Bell, lifelong resident of Akron, passed away Monday morning, November 25,2013 at the age of 93 at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born March 5, 1920, to the late William and Mamie (Harrington) Partlo. On November 2, 1940 she married Harold “Sam” Bell and spent many happy years as a homemaker raising her children and assisting with duties on the family farm. Norma and Sam were married forty years before he preceded her in death in 1980. Also preceding her in death were a son, Donald F. Bell, siblings Raymond, Lyle, Gerald and Alma Partlo, sisters-in-law Beth and Lucy Partlo and brother-in-law, Lloyd Hayes. Norma enjoyed cooking, sewing and crocheting and had an extra passion for her iris flower gardens. Her heart, kind and gentle soul were as beautiful as the flowers she tended to. She adored and cherished her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She was that “shoulder” everyone could lean on, knowing she would always be there. One of the best qualities of a friend is one that can listen; and she possessed just that. She was in every essence the true meaning of mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her sister Nina Hayes of Mt. Morris, sons, James (Karen)  Bell of Unionville, Alan (Alexa) Bell of Millington and a daughter Beverly (Michael) Schember of Unionville, her grandchildren, Rodney Bell, Alan, Tom (Luba) Bell, Alicia (Lee) Pavlicheck, Jason (Vicki) Bell, Joe (Meaghan) Bell, Lori (John) Montgomery and Amy (Lamont) Munger, and great-grandchildren, Delanie, Ty, Keegan, Jeremiah, Brittany, Layne, Ryder, Briana, Olivia, Maci, Logan and  Nolan, along with many nieces and nephews and close friends. Visitation will be at Unionville Funeral Chapel on Tuesday between the hours of 2pm and 8 pm and at the Moravian Church on Wednesday morning from 10 am until service time. Rev. Trina Holmberg will officiate with committal at Demorest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Wishes of the family or to the American Cancer Society.
