Roland “Rollie” Kopischke, 93, of Reese, died early Thursday morning at Select Specialty Hospital in Saginaw. He was born September 16, 1920 in Reese son of the late Albert and Theresa (Falk) Kopischke. He was a graduate of Reese High School and farmed in the Reese area most of his life. He married the former Edna DuRussel on August 26, 1950 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Roland was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese where he served as an Elder. His enjoyments included bowling, playing cards and hunting. Surviving besides his wife Edna are his two sisters, Esther Reif of Fairgrove and Ruth Bader of Reese and several nieces, nephews and special caregivers, TJ, Tyler, Shawn, Jon, Tanner. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Viola DuRussel and three brothers-in-law, Carl Reif, Henry Bader and Ed DuRussel. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, January 13, 2014 from the Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese. Rev. Dr. Robert Bennett and Vicar Tyler Walworth will both officiate with committal services to take place at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Roland’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw St in Reese on Sunday from 2-4 & 5-7 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
