DISTRICT COURT

Robert Thomas Miller, 37, Otter Lake, is charged with license documents/plates – forgery; motor vehicle – operation without security; operating – with the presence of a controlled substance; license plate/registration/title – unlawful use; operating – no valid license. Pretrial is Jan. 21 and preliminary exam is Jan. 27.

Austin Lee Avery, 17, Caro, is charged with controlled substance – delivery/manufacture (Schedule 4); controlled substance – possession of analogues; controlled substance – possession of marijuana; operating with the possession of a controlled substance; tobacco – purchase by minors. Pretrial is Jan. 21 and preliminary exam is Jan. 27.

Jaden David King, 18, Vassar, is charged with weapons – carrying concealed. Pretrial was Jan. 13 and preliminary exam is Jan. 21.

Charley Combs, 55, Cass City, is charged with controlled substance – possession of marijuana – 2nd or subsequent offense. Pretrail was Jan. 6 and preliminary exam was Jan. 13.

Shon James Tatro, 36, Millington, is charged with child abuse – 2nd degree; domestic violence. Preliminary exam is Jan. 27.

Tyler Lee Swadling, 19, Millington, is charged with possession of marijuana – 2nd or subsequent offense. Pretrial was Jan. 6 and preliminary exam was Jan. 13.

Michelle Ann Gotts, 39, Caro is charged with tampering; lying to a peace officer – 4 year or more crime investigation. Pretrial is Jan. 6 and preliminary exam is Jan. 13.

Larry Ray Smith Jr., 33, Vassar, is charged with domestic violence. Pretrial is Jan. 21.

CIRCUIT COURT

Douglas Peter Bardy, 49, Avoca, pled guilty to operating while intoxicated – third offense – felony; operating – license suspended/revoked/denied. Sentence date to be set.

Tara Faye Haley, 37, Caro, pled no contest to controlled substance – possession of marijuana – 2nd or subsequent offense. Sentence date to be set.

Leon Arthur Kuberski, 42, Valrico, Florida, pled no contest to controlled substance – possession of marijuana – 2nd or subsequent offense; operating – license suspended/revoked/denied. Sentence date to be set.

Larry Brian Peifer, 44, Cass City, pled no contest to motor vehicle – unlawful driving away. Sentence date to be set.

Ruth Lisa Gross, 42, Vassar, pled guilty to controlled substance – possession of marijuana – 2nd or subsequent offense. Sentence date to be set.

Nicholas Michael-James Osborn, 22, Lapeer, was sentenced to 12 months delayed and ordered to pay $698 fines and costs for controlled substance – possession of marijuana – 2nd or subsequent offense.

Joseph Arthur Frank, 61, Millington, pled guilty to controlled substance – delivery/manufacture of 5-45 kilograms of marijuana – 2nd or subsequent offense; controlled substance – delivery/manufacture of marijuana – 2nd or subsequent offense; controlled substance – 2nd or subsequent offense.

Thomas Ryan Schmotzer, 30, Deford, was sentenced to two 365 day deferred sentences, credit for 106 days for weapons – firearms – receiving and concealing; and weapons – firearms – possession by a felon. Schmotzer was sentenced to two years, credit for 106 days, 60 months probation and ordered to pay $1,494 fines and costs for weapons – felony firearm (habitual offender 4th offense).

Jason Marvin Curl, 43, Caro, was sentenced to 365 days deferred, credit for 2, 12 months probation and ordered to pay $1,198 fines and costs and forfeited a firearm for assault with a dangerous weapon (felonious assault).

Joey Lee Hutchinson, 32, Caro, pled no contest to breaking and entering – a building with intent (habitual offender 3rd offense). Sentence date to be set.

Nicholas James Barron, 34, Marlette, was sentenced to 365 days, credit for 2, 60 months probation and ordered to pay $3, 818 fines and costs for operating while intoxicated causing serious injury.

Shane Michael Koval, 24, Lapeer, was sentenced to 12 months delayed, credit for 44 days, and ordered to pay $1,198 fines and costs for police officer – assaulting/resisting/obstructing.

Trisha Lynn Hurley, 34, Millington, pled no contest to operating while intoxicated (habitual offender 4th offense); attempted controlled substance – possession of analogues. Sentence date to be set.
