GERTRUDE L. OSTRANDER ELKHART, INDIANA, formerly of Caro

Gertrude L. Ostrander of Elkhart, Indiana, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Hubbard Hills Estates in Elkhart. Gertrude was born October 1, 1938 in New Haven, Connecticut, the daughter of the late Rev. Cyril and Minnie (Ezold) Mouland. On September 7, 1957 she was united in marriage with Eugene Ostrander in Brooklyn, New York. He preceded her in death on August 6, 2003. She was a co-founder and co-director of a pre-school at Westland Free Methodist Church in Westland, Michigan. Gertrude enjoyed her family and is known as a faithful follower of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Surviving Gertrude are two sons and their spouses, Michael & Melba Ostrander of Newport, Stephen & Lisa Ostrander of Middlebury, Indiana; four grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb, Andrew and Kathyrn Ostrander; sister-in-law, Carol Mouland; three brothers-in-law and their spouses, Wayne and Alyce Ostrander, Jerry and Jo Ann Ostrander, Charles and Sharon Ostrander; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Gertrude was preceded in death by one brother, Rev. John Mouland; and one brother-in-law, Wilber David Ostrander; two sisters-in-law Becky and Marilyn Ostrander. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the Ellington Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Harold Knight officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Fairgrove. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Salvation Army or the Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church Missions Fund, c/o Michael or Stephen Ostrander, 205 W.
