Charles Paul Weissenborn of Caro, age 68, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014 at St. Mary’s of Michigan in Saginaw. Charles was born July 8, 1945 in Caro, the son of the late Melvin and Helen (Mertz) Weissenborn. He was united in marriage with the former Jean Eyers on May 20, 1966 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro. Charles was employed and retired as a line worker at Grey Iron Foundry. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, reading a good book, but most importantly, loved his family and being with them.
Charles is survived by his wife, Jean of forty-seven years; one daughter, Kelly Weissenborn of Otisville; one son, Joe Weissenborn and his wife, Jennie of Caro; three grandchildren, Tim Kreger, Chloé and Maggie Weissenborn; and one brother, David Weissenborn and his wife, Jan of Grayling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Joanne Simpson.
In keeping with Charles’ wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family committal service will be held at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association in memory of Charles.
