A long time Millington resident passed away early Monday morning July 22, 2013 while at Covenant Health Care Center Harrison Campus in Saginaw. Olive was 89. Olive Elizabeth Osborne was born on August 8, 1923 in Blucher Saskatchewan, Canada to the late Herbert & Olive (Martyn) Osborne. At the age of three her family returned to the U.S. where she spent her years in Fostoria and Millington. She graduated from Millington High School in June of 1941. She attended Tuscola County Normal and graduated in 1942. Olive taught in rural schools for five years and always said they were happy years. She graduated from Central Michigan Teachers college and taught 35 years in the Millington School System. She loved teaching and did tutoring in her later years. She married George Muntin on August 13, 1944. They had two daughters, George Ann Muntin of Novato, CA, and Cindy Willson of Millington. She also leaves a beloved grandson, Jeremy Willson. Olive was an active member of Millington United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Stars #390 and an active member of the Millington – Arbela Historical Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; her brother, John and parents, Herbert and Olive Osborne. Gifts of remembrance can be directed to Millington United Methodist Church, Millington-Arbela Historical Society, Millington Community Center, or the Millington-Arbela District Library. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. and also on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. at the Millington United Methodist Church until the services begin. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Millington United Methodist Church. Pastor Pete Crawford will deliver the funeral message and the closing prayers.
