Elaine W. Witkovsky of Caro, age 76, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility in Caro, following a brief illness. She was born November 14, 1937 in Cass City, the daughter of the late Robert and Dora (King) Etzler. Elaine grew up in Pinnebog and was a graduate of Kinde High School, going on to receive RN training at Saginaw General Hospital. Elaine was united in marriage with Richard Witkovsky on March 14, 1987 in Caro, and he survives her. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Hills & Dales General Hospital in Cass City, the Tuscola County Health Department and the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, retiring in 1992. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and its Women’s Auxiliary where she served as treasurer for many years, the Stephen’s Ministry and the Caro VFW Auxiliary Post #4164. Elaine loved her grandchildren and enjoyed sewing, quilting, crossword puzzles and square dancing. Elaine is survived by her husband, Richard Witkovsky of Caro; four children and their spouses, Timothy Fuester of New Baltimore, Nicole & Adam Stein of Reed City, Robert & Kim Witkovsky of Caro, Raylene & Dale Shoup of Caro; seven grandchildren, Timothy and John Fuester, Alaina, Alexandra and Aleeya Stein, Richard Witkovsky and his fiancé Melissa Albrecht, and Nikki Miles; one great-grandson, Liam Moody; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by one daughter, Roblyn Whisman; one grandson, Kevin Whisman; and two brothers, Charles and George Etzler. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro with Rev. Cameron Steele officiating. Burial will follow at Ellington Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Gift of Life or the American Cancer Society.
