MAYVILLE — Seven Mayville Community Schools administrators received 5 percent raises Tuesday night, as the Board of Education approved “pay increases in line with those given to the teaching staff” during the past two school years.
Monday night’s salary increases went to High School/Middle School Principal Christopher Kidd, Elementary School Principal Kimberly Morden, Maintenance/ Transportation Director Robert Hiiter, Accounting Coordinator Connie Sutter, Administrative/Financial Assistant Tracie Hilts, Athletic Director Mark Cooper and Food Services Director Deb Osowski.
Administrators’ wages “have been frozen” since 2011, according to the school board’s Finance Committee. The administrators’ raises will take effect when the new fiscal year starts in July.
Kidd and Morden each will receive an annual salary of $75,600 next fiscal year, up from $72,000 this year.
Hiiter’s new salary will be $51,159, up from $48,723. Sutter’s salary will rise to $36,239 next year, up from $34,514. Hilts will see her salary go to $31,992, up from $30,469.
Cooper’s new salary is $18,697, an increase from $17,807. Osowski’s salary will increase to $18,690 from $17,800.
According to a document from the board Finance Committee, “The support staff and teachers’ union have or are going to receive pay increases over a two-year period.” The raises for the support staff take place from 2013 into 2015, while the raises for teachers occur from 2012 into 2014.
Mayville Superintendent Rhonda Blackburn is retiring at the end of June, and board members. The school board plans to make the superintendent’s position a part-time job for the next one to two school years.
In other action Tuesday night, the school board hired Heath Harris as Mayville Middle School track coach, and accepted the resignation of bus driver Allen Friday, effective June 30. The board aslo accepted the resignation of Jim Wencel as assistant wrestling coach.
