JAMES DeLORE, Linwood, Michigan

Jim passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday April 2, 2014, at the age of 66.  He was born in Pontiac, Michigan, to the late Phillip & Margaret (DeClerck) DeLore on March 13, 1948.  He graduated from Lake Orion High School in 1966. Jim married Martha Brown on September 10, 1983 in Rochester, Michigan.  He served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam from 1967 to 1971 with the Seawolves and was honorably discharged.  He later served in the Naval Reserves.  Jim worked as a millwright for General Motors for 41 years and was a member of the UAW Local 594, the NRA, the American Trapshooting Association and the American Legion. He loved hunting, boating, fishing, trapshooting, watching NHL specifically the Detroit Red Wings, spending time with his family and grandchildren, and traveling throughout the U.S. Jim is survived by his wife Martha of Linwood;  his children Michelle (Mike) Reed of Midland, Michael DeLore of Midland, Elizabeth DeLore of Lansing, Lacey DeLore of Essexville, and Caleb DeLore of Lapeer, daughter-in-law Laura DeLore of Macomb and his grandchildren Madelynne and Mason Reed, Jordan, Sydney, and Marcus DeLore, and Brayden DuRussel. He is also survived by his brothers Tom (Ellen) DeLore of Lake Orion and Brian (Beth) DeLore of Auburn Hills.  He was preceded in death by his son Christopher and a brother Richard. Funeral services will be held at Rivertown Funeral Chapel in Kawkawlin on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 11am, and followed by burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.  Visitation will be held at Rivertown Funeral Chapel on Monday April 7th between 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Tuesday April 8th between 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
