Anna Sakon, age 95, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility in Caro. Anna was born February 12, 1919 in Sebewaing to the late Michael and Magdalina (Reis) Koepf. She married Joseph “Joe” Sakon November 1938. He passed away in 1981. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, playing bingo, taking care of her house plants, flower gardening and listening to country music. Anna is survived by her children: Joseph P. (Rose Marie “Cookie”) Sakon of Unionville, Geraldine E. (David) Binder of Tennessee, JoAnn M. Collins of Unionville, John M. (friend Karen) Sakon of Glennie, MI, Linda L. (Mike) O’Hare of Bay City, Anthony J. (Cynthia) Sakon of Unionville; daughter-in-law, Sally Sakon of Unionville; sister, Elizabeth MacKenzie of Oscoda; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Richard G. Sakon; infant son, Mike Sakon; and siblings: Magdalina Trischler, Tony Koepf, Frank Koepf, Theresa Hessler, John Koepf and Michael Koepf. Visitation was Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-9 pm with an evening prayer/rosary service. The funeral service was Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Sebewaing. Visitation began at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.
