Paul E. (Pete) Hunt, Arbela Twp.

Mr. Paul E.  (Pete) Hunt of Arbela Town-ship, and the Millington area passed away early Saturday morning, May 10, 2014 at his residence; Pete was 77.  Born on January 22, 1937, Pete was the son of the late Roy and Beatrice (Adams) Hunt. Pete graduated from Millington High School, class of 1955. Pete served our country in the U.S. Army Reserves. On September 5, 1959, Pete married Miss Viola Keinath, and together Viola and Pete have      celebrated 54 years of marriage. For 17 years, Pete was employed with the former Universal Manufac-turing Co. in Frankenmuth, Michigan. After leaving Universal, Pete went to work for General Motors Metal Fab, and then retired from GM with 25 years of employment. Pete was also a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington where, from time to time, he ushered.  Pete loved the auctions; Auctioneers could always count on him to bid on the $2.00 box lots. Pete also loved collecting old engines and working on them to restore them.  Pete’s real  passion was working the family farm; he was very proud to be known as the friendly farmer.  Pete leaves wife, Viola; children:  son, Ed and wife Jody Hunt, son, Terry and wife Peggy Hunt, son, Kory Hunt, daughter, Lorie and husband Dwight Keinath, nine grandchildren, three great-granddaughters; a brother, Raymond and wife Harriet Hunt; sisters:  Donna Lund, Beulah and husband Lyle Burns, Margaret and husband Eugene Gray, and Hilda and husband James Gray. Pete leaves also several nieces, nephews, other extended family and many friends. Besides his       parents, Pete is preceded in death by several siblings.  The Hunt family received friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation was at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral services began at 1:00 p.m. Burial followed at the Millington Township Cemetery. Pastor James Bruner delivered the funeral message and the closing prayers at the cemetery. Hanlin Funeral Home has been assisting the Hunt family.
