William (Bill) Albert Freeland, age 80 of North Branch, MI, formerly from Mayville, MI died Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the Regency at Grand Blanc with his family at his side. The funeral will be 2 PM Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the Avram Funeral Home in Mayville, MI, with Pastor Ron Hutchinson officiating and military honors by American Legion Post #181 and Mayville/Vassar VFW 10884. The family will receive visitors 4-8 PM Wednesday July 23, 2014 and from 12 to time of service at the funeral home. Internment will be at Watertown Township Cemetery at a later date. Suggested memorials may be given to the Family Fund. William was born on October 19, 1933 to Lee and Fern (Hall) Freeland in Mayville, MI. He married Donna Smith on June 9, 1956 in Mayville, MI. William was a member of the United States Army, where he served during the Korean war conflict. He was honorably discharged in April 1955. William retired from General Motors in 1990 after working there for 38.5 years. He loved country music, playing pool, bowling, an avid Detroit Tigers fan, and especially liked spending time with friends and family. He is survived by his wife: Donna of North Branch, MI, four sons: Wm L. (Donna) Freeland of North Branch, MI, David (Arlene) Freeland of Flint, MI, Timothy (Sherry) Freeland of Mayville, MI, and Steven M. (Dawn) Freeland of North Branch, MI, one Brother James (Rosemary) Freeland of Mayville, MI and nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
