CHESTER T. DINSMORE, Wisner Township, Michigan

Chester T. “Chet” Dinsmore, age 67 years, died Sunday, July 20, 2014 in McLaren Bay Region.  He was born to Chester and Cleo (Ryers) Dinsmore on October 27, 1946 in Bay City.  Chet honorably served our country in the U. S. Army during the time of the Vietnam War.  Before his retirement, he was employed with G.M.’s Grey Iron Foundry for 45 years.  Chet was a member of In His Presence Ministries and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. On November 6, 1965, he was united in marriage to Gloria J. Obertein and they shared their lives together for over 48 years.  Gloria survives him, along with two daughters, Amy (George) Giustiniani and Lisa (Derek) Short; three grandchildren, Audrey and Willem Short, and Andrew Hart; two brothers and two sisters, Richard (Patricia) Dinsmore, Randy (Diana) Dinsmore, Mardeen Garza, and Kaye (Patrick) Schultz; his in-laws, Warren (Cindy) Myrick, Wayne (Carol) Obertein, and Pam Hunter; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Andrew Dinsmore and a sister, Sandra Kay Dinsmore. A celebration of Chet’s life will all take place at In His Presence Ministries, 4521 Monitor Road, Bay City.  Visiting hours at the church will be Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, and Friday, July 25, 2014 after 10:00 AM, with funeral services following at 11:00 AM.  Pastor Michael Baranek will officiate and interment will be at 2:30 PM in Gilford Township Cemetery, Tuscola County.  Memorial contributions may be directed to S.O.S.
