Doris Elaine Nagy, age 94, of Vassar, died Friday, July 25, 2014. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at the Fairgrove United Methodist Church. Rev. William Sanders will officiate with burial to follow in Brookside Cemetery. Doris’ family will be present to receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home-Fairgrove on Monday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. On Tuesday, Doris will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial contributions to the Fairgrove United Methodist Church or to the Gideons International. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Doris was born March 24, 1920, in Bad Axe, Michigan, the daughter of John and Helen Bessy (Winters) McCloy. She and Paul M. Nagy, Sr. were united in marriage on April 20, 1940, in Fairgrove. Sadly Paul preceded her in death on May 21, 2013. Doris worked at the Caro State Hospital for 13 years until her retirement. She was a long time active member of the Fairgrove United Methodist Church. In her free time Doris enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, wintering in Arizona with her husband Paul, and making quilts. Left to cherish her memory are three children, Judy Zwerk, Sarah Jane and husband, Thomas Eurich, and Barbara and husband, David Abbgy; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, son Mike, Jr., her daughter Janice Moore, and her five siblings.
