Douglas Lynn Milner; age 77; of Mayville; Passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Troy Beaumont Hospital after a long illness. Doug was born in Watertown Township on June 23, 1937 to the late Clinton and Rosella (Middleton) Milner. He graduated from Mayville High School in 1955 and joined the Michigan National Guard. He was honorably discharged in 1960. On July 17, 1965, he married Marlene Marie Ricketts at the Novesta Baptist Church near Cass City. Doug farmed and raised beef cattle, as well as working as a machine operator at General Motors in Flint for 30 years, retiring in 1992. He loved being outdoors camping, fishing, boating, gardening, and spending time with his grandson. He was a lifelong resident of Mayville, but once he retired, he enjoyed spending every winter in Zephyrhills, Florida. Doug was also a member of the Mayville United Methodist Church. Douglas is survived by his wife Marlene; their daughter and her husband, Pamela and Jason Cusmano of Rochester Hills; his grandson Matthew; his brother and sister-in-law, Armand and Frances Milner of Mayville; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Rosella Milner; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ross and Belva Ricketts; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wilbur and Betty Ricketts; and his nephew, Bryon Milner. Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 8, 2014, at 11 a.m. at SPARKS-GRIFFIN FUNERAL HOME, Lake Orion. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 3-8 p.m. and Friday August 8, 2014 from 10-11 a.m. A luncheon will be held after the funeral.
