The MPA is an organization for newspapers. Each year the better newspaper contest is held. Journalists gather their best articles, photographs, and columns from throughout the year to submit. Also, there is a contest for advertisements, special sections, and design.
For the second year in a row, more members have submitted more entries in the MPA Better Newspaper Contest. Members of the Wisconsin Newspaper Association reviewed 3,417 entries submitted 119 Michigan newspapers this year.
The increased competition inspires all journalists to produce better work, which in turn, nurtures stronger communities.
“As newspapers evolve and grown in these ‘platform agnostic’ times, they remain the foundation of vibrant communities across the Great Lake States,” said MPA Executive Director Mike MacLaren. “We’ve seen double-digit increases in this contest and the tougher the competition helps our members capture audience attention and build better communities.
