Margaret Kamrad, age 99 of Gagetown, passed away on Tuesday evening, September 30, 2014. She was born on March 10, 1915, a daughter of Christopher and Anna (Ex) Ramig. She married Steve Kamrad, who after 69 loving years of marriage, preceded her in death July 26, 2004. Margaret was a member of St. Agatha Catholic Church, Gagetown and its Ladies Aid, and she enjoyed passing the time by sewing and gardening. During her early years, she assisted with duties on the family farm. Surviving are her daughters, Janice (David) Schobert of Oscoda and JoAnn (Ronald) Kady of Gagetown; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Louise (Robert) Hayes; sister-in-law, Ann Ramig; daughter-in-law, Grace Kamrad; and several nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Steve, Jr.; daughter, Margaret Kamrad; brother, Jacob Ramig; grandchildren, Craig Kamrad and Sue Lynn Schobert; and sisters, Mary Callender, Lydia Hessler-Krohn, Molly Hessler, Elsie Perry, and Anna Helzer. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on October 6, 2014 at St. Agatha Catholic Church, Gagetown with Fr. Christian Tabares officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the Gagetown Funeral Chapel on Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of mass. A Parish Scripture service will be held on Sunday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The family has suggested memorials may be made to the Forget-Me-Nots at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community or St. Agatha Cemetery Fund.
