Eugene McLellan, age 86 of Caro/Mayville died Wednesday October 29, 2014 at home with his loving family at his side. Funeral Service will be at 11 AM, Saturday November 8, 2014 at Juniata Baptist Church in Vassar, MI with Pastor Lyle Ohman officiating. The family will receive visitors 2PM to 8PM on Friday November 7, 2014 at the Avram Funeral Home in Mayville, MI and 10AM until the time of service on Saturday November 8 2014 at the church. Interment will take place at Fremont Township Cemetery in Mayville, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the Juniata Baptist Church Missionary Fund. Eugene was born on October 19, 1928 in Caro, MI to Charles and Dorothy (Putnam) McLellan. He grew up in the Caro area and graduated from Caro High School in 1946. Eugene married Mildred Nickert on May 27, 1950 in Sutton Sunshine Methodist Church in Caro, MI. Eugene retired from Buick Motors. He was a member of the Juniata Baptist Church in Vassar, MI. Eugene enjoyed playing cards at the Golden Years Club. Eugene loved running, camping, fishing, bowling and gardening. But most of all Eugene cherished spending good times with family and friends. Eugene is survived by son: Douglas McLellan of Pinconning: 3 daughters: Sandra McLellan of Millington, Cynthia (James) Piehl of North Branch and Laura (Patrick) McCarthy of Pinckney; loving friend and companion, Mary Jane Robinson; 3 brothers: Theron (Sylvia) McLellan of Caro, Lawrence McLellan of Loveland, CO and Gerald of Fargo, FL; 10 Grandchildren, 18 Great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mildred; 2 sons, Jeffrey and Calvin; 3 sisters, Maxine Vat, Celia Adler and Marion McLellan; 4 brothers, Adrian, Harlan, Raymond and Earl.
