Ithaca- The Yellowjackets extended their winning streak to 67 games in the win over the Cardinals. Millington started out strong holding Ithaca to zero points in the first quarter, but the Yellowjackets scored quickly in the second quarter on a Dallas Reeser one-yard touchdown run, and again at the end of the quarter on a 15-yard touchdown pass from Jake Smith to Myles Waldron to put the halftime score at 14-0. Millington played well in the first half, but hurt themselves with a turnover, missed tackles, and six penalties that totalling 51 yards, including one that kept a scoring drive alive for Ithaca. The Yellowjackets scored on their first drive of the second half, pushing their lead to 20-0. Millington got close on their first possesion of the half after a 46 yard run by quarterback Caleb Wascher put the Cardinals deep in Ithaca territory, but the drive ended up stalling on fourth down. Ithaca scored again in the third quarter on a 30-yard touchdown pass from Smith to Spence DeMull, and scored their last points in the fourth on a 27-yard pick-six by Reeser. The game marks the end of great career and senior season by Millington running back Chase Maxon who finishes the season with over 1,000 rushing yards, including 75 yards in his final game. Millington finishes the year with a 9-2 record, their 26th straight winnning season, and played in the district final for the 6th straight year. Millington will be losing some great senior talent, but will have starting quarterback Caleb Washer, running back Kolyton Sebert, and receiver Shawn Pardee all returning next season.
