FRANCES SHARLIE WILSIE, Caro
Sharlie Wilsie, age 91, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Saginaw Covenant Health Care – Harrison. She was born November 22, 1923 in Cass City, the daughter of the late Grant and Yulu (Smith) VanWinkle. For several years following graduation from high school, Sharlie worked for Draper Chevrolet in Saginaw as a bookkeeper. She was united in marriage with Shurley Wilsie on July 6, 1946, at which time they came to Caro to live. He preceded Sharlie in death on August 27, 2011. For about eighteen years, Sharlie was employed at the Tuscola County Advertiser in Caro. Sharlie was an active member of the Caro United Methodist Church and enjoyed being with her family and friends, playing bridge, painting, reading and sewing. Surviving are two sons, one daughter and their spouses, Ron and Cynthia Wilsie of Santa Ana, California, Robert and Lisa Wilsie of Blaine, Minnesota, Susan and Mike Hacker of Meeks Bay, California; seven grandchildren: Cole, Caitlin, Jack, Steven and Mathew Wilsie and Riley and Jake Hacker; one sister, Gene Palmer of Cass City; one sister-in-law, Eloise Simpson of Caro; one brother-in-law and his wife, Richard and Bridgette Wilsie of Scottsdale, Arizona and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Sharlie was preceded in death by one brother, Richard VanWinkle and one sister-in-law, June Timko in 2009. In respect of her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the Caro United Methodist Church; Rev. Gregg Mayberry officiated. The family received friends at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at 11:00 A.M.
