Dorothy L. Rievert, age 80, of Sebewaing, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014. She was born December 16, 1934, in Owendale, to the late Roy and Margaret (Cove) Hartman. She married Warren G. Donahue on December 24, 1956 in Ivonton, OH. He preceded her in death on August 18, 1970. She then married Jerald Rievert on September 10, 1971 in Owendale, MI. He preceded her in death May 16, 1986. Dorothy had a big heart and felt the need to take care of people. She took care of her mother in her mother’s later years. She was a “Foster Mother” to 34 teenagers. Dorothy had two birds named Hope and Faith that she loved and treated like babies. She enjoyed working out in her yard and would feed the wild birds and rabbits. She loved her family, and found great joy in the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by her son, Warren (Cindy) Donahue of Sebewaing; step-children: Linda (Bert) Dubs, Dennis (Eileen) Rievert, Janet (James, Sr.) Rabun and Edward (Ame) Rievert; 34 foster children; grandchildren: Warren G. Donahue of Unionville, Katie (Shaun) Gremel of Sebewaing and Terry Donahue of Sebewaing; great-grandchildren: McKinsey Donahue, Brady Donahue, Seth Gremel, Jenna Gremel, Molly Gremel and Luke Gremel; and siblings: Margeret (Don) Pluto of Bridgeport, Dasie (Wilmer) Schulz) of Riley Twp., Roy (Donna) Hartman of Akron and Daniel (Donna) Hartman of Wasilla, Alaska. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husbands: Warren G. Donahue and Jerald Rievert; children: baby, Warren A. Donahue and Barbara Lou Donahue, and siblings: Raymond, James, Beatrice (Martin), Ilean, Charles, John, Clarence, Frances (Willey), Gerald, William and Florance. Visitation was Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 3-8 pm. The funeral service will be Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home at 11 am. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sebewaing.
