The Lord blessed us with a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle and friend and took Lynn to his heavenly home on September 4, 2015. Lynn was our hero as he fought his long battle with cancer never giving up until his last breath. Lynn was born on September 25, 1955 to Harold and Betty (McLean) Hecht in Saginaw. He loved our Lord and Savior and was a lifelong member at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Richville. It was there that he was baptized and confirmed. On April 29, 1978 Lynn married the love of his life Luann Rodammer who survives him. Together they celebrated 37 wonderful years together. Lynn was always active and involved in many different organizations. Lynn enjoyed farming his own land as well as helping others farm. He was a coach and board member with the Tuscola Youth Softball program for many years. He always made sure the players understood the game was for fun and not just to win or lose. He was a member of the Richville Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years where he served most of those years as an Assistant Chief. He was past president of Tuscola County Firefighters Association. He was employed with Bader Brothers/Tri County Equipment for many years with the most of those years being in Birch Run. Everyone knew if you needed help with a lawnmower, either selling or fixing, Lynn was the guy you could count on for help. He was also very active in the church where he served as an usher, trustee and elder. Together Lynn and Luann were blessed with two children and their spouses: Rebecca (Micheal) Evans of Vassar and Mark (April) Hecht of Ferris, Texas along with his grandson, Cole Evans. He is also survived by his brother, Bruce (Ronda) Hecht, in-laws, Barbara (Ken) Honemann, Michael (Margie) Rodammer, Richard (Kathy) Rodammer and many caring nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Betty, grandparents, and in-laws, Raymond and Lorine Rodammer. The family would like to especially thank, Dr. Liu and her staff and all the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital that took special care of Lynn. A celebration of life service for Lynn will take place at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 12, 2015 at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Richville. Rev. Rob Gadeken will officiate with committal services to follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Firefighter honors will be presented by the Richville Fire Department at the cemetery. Lynn’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw Street, Reese on Friday, September 11th from 2-8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Michael’s Lutheran Church or Richville Fire Department. www.waresmithwoolev.com.
