Bernard N. Milot of Mayville, age 73, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Sanilac County Medical Care Facility in Sandusky. Bernie was born November 8, 1941 in Detroit, the son of the late Bernard W. and Leona (Hoffman) Milot. He was united in marriage with Sharon Sieloff on December 5, 1959 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wyandotte, and she preceded him in death January 12, 2013. Bernie retired from the Wyandotte Police Department as a Lieutenant following twenty-six years of service. His commitment to those he served gave him the opportunity to attend the F.B.I. Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Bernie loved music, listening to bands playing the “Big Band” sound, listening to his children’s band and later converted to Country Western music and Gospel music. Bernie is survived by his five children and their spouses, Bernard W. & Deborah Milot of Mayville, William E. & Lisa Milot of Taylor, Pamela A. & Gary Truskowski of Trenton, Robert C. & Wendy Milot of Mayville, Rebecca E. & Andy Timmermann of Belleville; nineteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren; two brothers and their wives, Lewis and Jackie and Robert and Pamela Milot. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Living Waters Chapel in Caro with Revs. James Solomon and Jon Terry officiating. Burial will follow at Watertown Township Cemetery in Fostoria, with military honors afforded by the Caro American Legion Post #7. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Living Waters Chapel.
