Carol H. Erbisch, 79, of Frankenmuth, formerly of Vassar, died Monday morning, November 18, 2013 at Covenant HealthCare, Cooper Campus, in Saginaw. She was born February 15, 1934 in Grayling, daughter of the late Francis and Verna (Holliday) Butterfield. She was a graduate of Unionville High School. On February 27, 1954 she was married to Arthur Frederick Erbisch in Unionville. He predeceased her March 22, 2010. Carol was a homemaker most of her life but was a past employee of Kern’s Sausage, The Frankenmuth Hotel, Caro State Hospital and Prestolite in Bay City. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese, enjoyed reading, playing solitaire, square dancing with her husband, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her four daughters, one son and their spouses: Debra and Walter Bezona of Allyn, Washington; Judy and John Jewell of Grayling; Connie and David Swanson of Frankenmuth; Marjorie and Shawn Keenoy of Manitou Beach and David and Lori Erbisch of Vassar; eight grandchildren, Erika Erbisch, Nicholas Erbisch and his wife Amanda, John and Jessi Jewell, Stephanie and Crystal Swanson and KaliAnna and Dakota Keenoy. Also surviving is one brother, Daniel Butterfield and his wife Carol of Unionville; and one sister, Alice Adams of Munising. In addition to her parents and husband Arthur, Carol was predeceased by a son Gordon Frederick Erbisch, her grandson Walter Arthur Bezona, four brothers: Don, Francis “Ray”, Richard “Dick”, and Glen Butterfield and three sisters: Inez Knowles, Ardith Vock and Wilda Peto. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, November 22, 2013 from the Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese. Rev. Dr. Robert Bennett will officiate with cremation to follow. Private family inurnment will take place later next to her husband in the Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint. Carol’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral home, 9940 Saginaw St. in Reese on Thursday from 3-7 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until services.
