CARO — Six charges have been filed against Chrischundan Ricktarious Copes, 19, in connection with his alleged theft Monday of a Fed-Ex delivery truck in the city of Caro and attempted breaking and entering of a Caro business.

Copes is charged with breaking and entering with intent, attempted breaking and entering, unlawful driving away an auto, two counts of resisting an officer, and malicious destruction of property less than $200.

Tuscola County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to a breaking and entering in progress at a business on Remington Road outside of Caro in Almer Charter Township about 10 p.m.

“A witness stated a Fed-Ex truck was parked at the business and the driver was breaking into the store,” explained Undersheriff Glen Skrent.

When the deputies arrived on scene, the suspect, who was wearing a Fed-Ex coat, ran.

To help in the apprehension, Michigan State Police Tracking dogs were called for assistance. The suspect was eventually caught when a homeowner reported a subject hiding in the garage that matched the description of the suspect.

According to Skrent, bond for Copes was sent at  $12,000.
