Susan Mattarella, Mayville

Susan Mattarella, age 57, of Mayville, MI passed away Friday, November 29, 2013 at home with her loving family by her side after a long battle with ovarian cancer.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 AM on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mayville, MI with Father Joseph Schabel officiating.

Family will receive visitors 2 – 8 PM Friday, December 6, 2013 at Avram Funeral Home in Mayville, MI with Sister Riccardina Silvestri conducting a Scripture Service at 7 PM and Saturday December 7, 2013 at 10 AM until the Funeral Mass at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Family Discretionary Fund.

Susan was born October 25, 1956 in Flint, MI, the daughter of William and Ruth (Conarty) Robere Jr. She was a 1974 graduate of Davison High School. Susan married David Mattarella January 17, 1976 in Flint, MI. She was a photographic retoucher for 28 years and worked at Wingerts Food Center for 8 years. Susan was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and on the Decorating Committee for 10 years, also a member of the Knitting Club. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, sewing, knitting, camping, fishing, and rode motorcycles for 30 years with her husband. Susan loved spending time with family and friends. She had the most positive attitude and outlook about life, and was always smiling.

She is survived by her husband; David Mattarella of Mayville, MI, only child; Trevor Mattarella (fiance’ Jessica Stevenson) of Bay City, MI, father; William Robere Jr. of Manistique, MI, one sister; Linda (Russ) Robinson of Millington, MI, two brothers; William (Diana) Robere of Davison, MI, Jeffrey Robere (fiance’ Chris Collins) of Davison, MI, best friend; Mindy Walker of Mayville, MI, many nieces and nephews, and special furry companion, her cat Minnie.

Susan was preceded in death by her mother; Ruth Robere, one brother; Michael Robere, twin sisters; Nancy and Diane Robere.
