Beloved wife and mother, Marjorie Pauline Heidt, 73, of Alpharetta, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013. She was born to the late Alfred and Agnes Kunz on September 18, 1939, in Reese. She grew up in Vassar, and met Dale Heidt at Vassar High School. The two were married in 1958; they raised their family in Illinois and Michigan before relocating to Alpharetta in 1986. She leaves behind a loving family: Dale, her husband of 55 years; five children and their spouses, Cheryl and Duane Nakahata of Alpharetta, Greg and Anne Heidt of Edwardsville, IL, Dan and Jana Heidt of Charlotte, N.C., Mary and Drew Pereboom of Alpharetta, and Eric and Sarah Heidt of Durham, N.C.; six grandchildren, Maryn Heidt, Maya and Lydia Heidt, and Nathan and Andrew Lord and Nicholas Pereboom; and sister, Ann and brother-in-law, Dick Palmer of Vassar. Marjorie was an active parishioner at St. Brigid Catholic Church. In addition to volunteering at the church, she loved taking part in the daily life of her neighborhood and participated in numerous community groups, formal and informal, from book clubs to knitting caps for infants at the hospital. Marge comes from a family of musicians and music lovers, and in addition to singing in church she enjoyed music of many types, from her mother’s performances at the organ to the latest American Idol competition. She also enjoyed being near the water, whether fishing for perch in Lake Huron as a young person or searching for sand dollars on Daufuskie Island, S.C. But her favorite activity was simply spending time with her grandchildren, children, and beloved husband. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to North Fulton Community Charities. A funeral liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17 at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Johns Creek. Interment will take place in Reese at a later date.
