VASSAR — Vassar Police Department investigators “have a viable suspect list” following Monday morning’s strong-arm robbery of the Beacon & Bridge Market, according to Vassar Police Chief Ben Guile.
One female and one male robbed a female store employee at 5:10 a.m. Monday, Guile said.
“From our general physical description (of the suspects), that’s what we’re concluding,” Guile said.
Guile said there were “no signs of any weapons” on the suspects, who fled with cash from the store at East Huron Avenue and North Water Street. The chief said no one was harmed but declined comment on how the suspects obtained cash from the employee, or on the amount of cash taken by the pair. The store opens at 5 a.m., Guile said.
Guile said police don’t know if the suspects fled on foot or in a vehicle.
The victim of the robbery declined comment about the incident.
