Katy Lou Bielert, age 86 years, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Tendercare of Frankenmuth. She was born in Vassar on November 24, 1927 to the late Elgin M. and Mary M. (Lambert) Miller. She was a member of Grace American Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, Roland Bielert, 3 children: Chick (Bud) Rowe, Doug (Be-Bom) Bielert and Tim (Jeanette) Bielert, 6 grandchildren: Steven Martin, Sara (Tom) Meyer, Lanay (Brandon) Jacobs, Melody (Paul) Siwek, Travis Bielert and Amber White, her great-grandchildren: Hudson and Montagne Jacobs and Juliana Siwek, a sister, Nancy Worth, a brother, Gale (Barbara) Miller, a sister-in-law, Nancy Miller as well as her special nieces: Dee-Dee Worth and Dawn Worth, and a special nephew: Tiger Worth. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer L. Bielert-Bauer and a great-granddaughter, Anjela Kaylene Bauer, as well as her siblings: Roseanna, Angeline (Leon) Chardon, Percy, Carol, Glenwood, Elgin (Marion), Jr, and James.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Grace American Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Paul T. Werner, Lay Minister. Private interment will be in Tuscola Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Grace American Lutheran Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St., Vassar.
