Genevieve T. Wagner, 97, of Reese, died Monday afternoon, February 10, 2014 at the Satchell Christian Retirement Home in Caro. She was born on October 16, 1916 in Reese, daughter of the late David and Emma (Schulte) Solgat. She married Stephen Wagner on April 23, 1934 in Reese. He preceded her on July 2, 1989. She had been employed with Zehnder’s Restaurant, working in the kitchen, retiring after 20 years of service. Genevieve was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Reese, loved playing bingo and cards, and had also enjoyed going to Las Vegas. Surviving are her children, Ruth (Jerry) Wolverton of Vassar, William (Margie) Wagner of Scottsburg, Indiana, Alan Wagner of Hemlock, Ron Wagner and his special friend Cathy Goulet of Reese; son-in-law, Harold Gueldenzopf of Snover; 12 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, two daughters, Rose Gueldenzopf and Joyce Wagner; brothers, Frances, Clem, John, Woodrow and Art Solgat and a sister Marie Moquin all preceded her in death. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 14, 2014 from St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Reese. Father Christian Tabares will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Genevieve’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw Street, Reese on Thursday from 2-8 p.m., and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the liturgy.
