ARLETE MARIE BECKER, Sebewaing

Arlene Marie Becker, age 90, of Medallion Village, Sebewaing, went to be with the Lord on February 15, 2014. She was born in Huron County on July 16, 1923, the daughter of Theodore and Rose (Schweitzer) Sting. She was united in marriage to Arnold Becker on October 26, 1940 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Bach, Michigan. She and Arnold farmed all their lives in the Unionville area and were blessed with 61 years of marriage. She was a role model for her family. Arnold preceded her in death on June 18, 2001. Arlene enjoyed selling AVON for over 45 years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Unionville. She belonged to the Ladies Aid, LWML, san in the choir for many years and taught Sunday school. She also enjoyed playing cards with her Euchre Card Club and was a member of Farm Bureau. She enjoyed canning, cooking and serving meals to family and friends. She is survived by her son, Robert (Gretchen) Becker and daughter-in-law, Marjorie Becker of Unionville; 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren: Brian (Lisa) Becker, Madison and Taylor of Bay City; Eric Becker, Morgan & Mackenzie of Sebewaing; Cari (Amy) Becker, Sara, Ally & Jacob of Unionville; Arden (Brigitte) Becker, Zachary & Rachel of Howell; Gary (Chris) Becker, Kailey & Mason of Unionville; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Becker, a grandson, Dennis, in infancy, her sister Nora Schram and brother-in-law, Irvin Schram, her brothers and sisters-in-law, Milton (Pauline) Sting, Gerhardt (Delores) Sting & Waldo (Ann) Sting, her brother and sister-in-law, Bertram and Almeda (Allen) Parto and god-child, Valerie (Sting) Andrews. Funeral services for Arlene will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville, with Pastor Michael Boyer officiating. Visitation will be at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing on Monday, February 17, 2014 from 2-8pm and on Tuesday, February 18th at St. Paul Lutheran Church from 12 noon until the time of service. Those planning on an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Unionville, The Lutheran hour or The American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
