Dale D. Bader, 75, of Cass City, died following a long illness Sunday, February 23, 2014 in his home. He was born June 7, 1938 at home in Evergreen Township the fifth child of Lloyd L. and H. Irene (McNaughton) Bader. He married Sandra Ann Wallace September 15, 1962 in Shabbona United Methodist Church.
Dale graduated from Cass City High School in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army in Fort Gordon, GA from 1957 to 1959. Dale was employed at Marlette Homes as a Foreman and helped his father on the farm. He later worked at UPS as a Supervisor before he and his business partner built Tuscola Car Wash and opened B & W Auto Sales in 1970. In 1989 the car wash was sold and the dealership became D & B Auto Sales.
Dale was a very kind and caring man on the inside with a very big heart. He was a very hardworking man. He enjoyed spending time boating and snowmobiling with his family in earlier years. He loved hunting with his son and spending time at his cabin. Dale was an avid NASCAR fan. He attended the Indianapolis 500 annually for many years and also enjoyed spending time at Brickyard Race with his son and son-in-law. Dale shared a very special relationship with his granddaughter, Alexandria and loved spending time with her. She was the light of his life. Dale was a member of the White Creek Club since it began and a former member of the Eagles in Caro and the Moose Lodge in Caro.
Dale is survived by his wife, Sandra; children: Kimberlee (Corey) Harmon of St. Clair, Anthony Bader of Cass City; granddaughter, Alexandria Nickole; sisters: Marjorie (Arthur) Caister of Cass City, Helen Hubbard of Kingston, Donna (Gerald) Auten of Cass City, Wanda (Ronald) Parrott of Mio, Audrey Halas of Royal Oak; mother-in-law, Naomi Wallace of Cass City; brother-in-law, Richard (Judy) Wallace of Cass City; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Shirley Bader; brothers-in-law, Gene Chapin and Newell Hubbard; father-in-law, Raymond Wallace.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2014 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Pastor Ellen Burns of Port Sanilac United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Military honors under the direction of U.S. Army and Cass City VFW Post#3644. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund.
