WILLIAM M. PICKETT, JR. Caro

William M. Pickett, Jr. of Caro, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at St. Mary’s of Michigan in Saginaw.  He was born April 11, 1947 in Detroit, the son of the late Maudie Marie (Young) and William Pickett, Sr.  He graduated from high school in Detroit, and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam War.  Bill earned his BS degree from Wayne State University and a MS in Psychology from the Michigan School of Professional Psychology.  He was working for Wolverine Human Services and transferred to the Vassar Campus.  Bill was united in marriage with the former Lisa Corradi on March 20, 1992 in Miami, Florida.  He also worked for Tuscola Behavioral Health Systems and List Psychological before he and his wife opened Bridges Assessment Center which they ran until selling the business.  Bill enjoyed reading, traveling, eating, hiking, helping people and having friends visit at the cabin (Leaning Pines).  Bill is survived by his wife, Lisa; three children, Courtney & Roland Gomez of Caro, Taylor Dennis of San Antonio Texas, Jordan Pickett of Sedona, Arizona; three granddaughters, Alayna, Addyson and Arielle Gomez; one sister, Martina Pickett of Buckeye, Arizona; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sharon and Paul Greenleaf of Caro; and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Ransford Collon Funeral Home with Rev. Reggie Courliss officiating. Burial will follow at Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro, Michigan. The family received friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorials to the William Pickett, Jr. Family Discretionary Fund, c/o Lisa Pickett, 205 West Sherman St., Caro, MI 48723.  The family was assisted with these arrangements by the Ransford Collon Funeral Home of Caro.  Friends may share memories, thoughts and prayers online at www.RansfordCollon.com.
